Product description
The Exogen 1 by Wechsel provides effective protection against wind and weather. The flysheet and inner tent are made of 20D ripstop nylon, and the flysheet also has a silicone coating on both sides, which makes it extremely water repellent, tear resistant and gives it high UV stability, so this tent can withstand even the most unfavourable weather conditions. The floor seams have also been taped for an even better seal, giving it a hydrostatic head of 5000 mm, and meaning you don’t need to worry about moisture penetration even in heavy rain. The aluminium tent poles have two intersections that make them highly torsion-resistant. This minimises wind noise and makes it easier to sleep, even on stormy nights. The poles attach to the inner tent, but it is also possible just to connect the flysheet to the poles and floor for light weather protection. The attachment points between the flysheet and the inner tent are marked in different colours, which is a sensible and practical detail, because it is easy to find the right set-up position even under time pressure, and you don’t have to spend time setting out the individual parts before erecting the tent. There are three mosquito nets and two ventilation openings for the required oxygen supply and three pockets inside the tent to keep it organised. The vestibule is formed by the broader pole in the centre and the flysheet. It provides enough space for storing backpack, shoes and other utensils that you would rather not keep inside the tent. Thanks to its small packed dimensions and low weight of 1.48 kg, this tent is not only suitable for campsites, but also for rucksack and cycle tours.
