The Pertex Quantum outer material is windproof and successfully wicks away moisture, while the additional DWR finish gives the jacket water-repellent properties. Thanks to the goose down fill with fill power of 800 cuin, the down jacket is nice and warm - even down to temperatures around freezing. The high compressibility of the down means that a hardshell jacket can easily be pulled on over it if the weather takes a turn for the worse.
