Granted, this is not the only time you will wear it - for example, it is also ideally suited as a midlayer as part of your own personal winter layering system, and it also delivers top performance when worn between seasons. Thanks to its hip-length cut, the jumper can be combined with a climbing harness or backpack to wonderful effect, meaning it is great to carry with you when rock climbing or on hikes in cool weather. If it ever starts to drizzle, the PFC-free DWR (durable water repellent) coating is of real help, keeping the fabric permanently water-repellent. And if things ever get warm, or even sweat-inducing in the jacket, the soft fleece wicks away the moisture and then dries quickly. To ensure that cold draughts stay out, the cuffs and hem feature an elasticated trim.
