The Ortovox Shovel Kodiak is an avalanche shovel with an array of excellent features. Not only does it feature rapid locking without you even having to press a button, but also a rubberised grip zone as well as a practical D-grip for excellent handling. If you need to shovel snow away quickly, you can switch over to the 90° Easy-Plug clearing function within seconds.
If there's a harder layer of snow or ice in the Kodiak's way, the non-slip step grooves, a nice, hard kick and the sharpened, cutting edge should take care of it for you. The hardened, anodised aluminium not only makes the blade more stable but also contributes to the overall look of the shovel.
