Product description
An absolute classic in the La Sportiva range
If there were a law that every climber could only have one pair of climbing shoes - the Katana from La Sportiva would certainly be the first choice of many sport climbers, alpine climbers and boulderers. These shoes are incredibly versatile all-rounders that boast strengths in every discipline.
If you're looking for a single pair of shoes and don't want to have a specialist pair for bouldering, sport climbing and alpine climbing, the Katana are your perfect choice. They offer excellent edging stability for narrow ledges and great grip on smooth slabs. Out on the crag or in the climbing hall - the Katana can do both!
Construction
With the La Sportiva Katana, you get a pair of climbing shoes with a 4 mm thick Vibram XS Edge rubber sole. Plus, the upper is made from a blend of calfskin and microfibre. The synthetic material does not stretch and offers a permanently consistent fit, while the leather feels more comfortable against your skin and provides a better climate for your feet.
In addition, two heel loops help you to pop the Katanas on and are also ideal for attaching them to a backpack or climbing harness using a carabiner.
Another thoughtful detail is found in the construction of the thermo-welded hook-and-loop fasteners. The wide hook-and-loop straps allow the fasteners to adjust well to your feet. This means that the shoes can be quickly put on and taken off after each bouldering problem or alpine belay. A real all-rounder - no wonder the Katana are the favourite shoes of many top climbers.
Fit
Note: As the La Sportiva Katana runs relatively large, it is recommended to order the shoe one size smaller than your street shoe size. For particularly athletic tours, the Katana can even be bought up to two sizes smaller.
The advantages at a glance:
- Versatile climbing shoes for a wide range of climbing disciplines
- Balanced construction
- Vibram XS Edge
- Best suited for narrow feet
- Two hook-and-loop fasteners
