Product description
A light belay device for thin half and twin ropes - the MicroJul by Edelrid. The tuber was developed by Edelrid to be used specifically in combination with the extremely thin 6.9 mm Flycatcher Twin Rope. Nevertheless, the MicroJul is perfectly suited for use with all other thin alpine ropes featuring a diameter between 6.9 and 8.5 mm. It goes without saying that using such thin ropes for belaying requires a high level of experience.
With its 4 hole design, the MicroJul is suited for belaying a lead climber or two followers, as well as for abseiling. The fourth hole on the underside of the device serves to lower the second climber during descent. The MicroJul features a blocking function for fall situations, which, however, only springs into action when YOUR BRAKING HAND IS IN THE RIGHT POSITION! Note: According to the DAV (German Alpine Club), an auto-block tube is an auto-locking device relying on the right position of the braking hand. Its blocking support works by locking the rope between the carabiner and the device!
