Product description
Pitons like the Climbing Technology Universal Hard are still going strong in alpine terrain! It is constructed from hard steel and is thus best suited for use on hard rock (e.g., granite). It doesn't adapt as well as a soft steel piton, but is much easier to remove and often recyclable.
The 45° angled head of the Universal Hard piton applies torque to maximise holding power in both vertical and horizontal cracks.
Important notice: the lengths 10 cm and 12 cm are UIAA certified as Progression pitons and thus should only be used for progression on the rock. Only those with a length of 15 cm are intended for use as a Safety piton.
