Product description
Fully coated twin rope for glacier tours
The ideal rope for mountaineering and glacier hikes: the Rando Golden Dry 8 mm twin rope from Beal. Compared to the normal Rando 8 mm, the core and sheath yarns are waterproofed, resulting in a water absorption of less than 3%. It meets the requirements of the UIAA Water Repellent standard. With its 8 millimetre rope diameter and weight per metre of only 36 g, it takes up very little space in your bag and can withstand a fall in steep terrain if necessary.
Important: when tying in one after the other, for example on glaciers, Beal recommends using one strand from the twin rope. The use of the Rando in a single strand for mountaineering and climbing is prohibited. Only the use of both rope strands provides the necessary safety reserves in the event of a lead fall.
Service life of the rope
Beal ropes have a service life of maximum 15 years from the date of manufacturing (5 years storage + 10 years use). Depending on the frequency of use or damage, the service life will be reduced.
